Lead Faculty
Ahmet Palazoglu, Ph.D.

Ahmet Palazoglu, Ph.D., is a professor and chair of the UC Davis Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. His research is in systems engineering, which includes monitoring and control of chemical processes as well as the development of statistical models to study climatological and meteorological influences on regional air pollution. He has co-authored a textbook, Introduction to Process Control, which appeared in its second edition in 2012. He received his B.S degree from Middle East Technical University and M.S. degree from Bogazici University, both in Turkey. Palazoglu earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

William Ristenpart, Ph.D.

William Ristenpart, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the UC Davis Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. His research interests include microfluidic manipulation and characterization of biological systems, and electric field effects in complex fluids and biological suspensions. Ristenpart earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton University and did his post-doctoral work at Harvard University.
